Details of the 2008 Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon are being finalized. Please check back for updates.

We are planning half marathon and marathon layouts that will offer the popular features of previous courses. The half marathon will once again follow the exact route of the marathon until we return to downtown Detroit, and we will use a common finish line for all events. We will also locate the relay exchange points so that we provide a variety of leg distances to accommodate all experience levels. Features of the course include:

- Washington Blvd Start (same as last year)
- Passing historic Tiger Stadium along Michigan Ave.
- Mexican Town
- The Ambassador Bridge into Canada
- Riverside Drive in Windsor, ONT, overlooking the Detroit skyline
- The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel and the famous “Underwater Mile”
- Corktown
- The revitalized Detroit riverfront, overlooking the Windsor skyline
- Belle Isle
- The historic Indian Village neighborhood (party central!)
- Greektown
- Campus Martius Park Finish, the center of downtown Detroit
